Meet The Owner Edickson Mata

“When I was flipping properties and trying to hire contractors, I’d call five of them. Maybe three would call me back. And out of those three, maybe one was actually willing to put in the work. I thought — there has to be a better way.”

That frustration became the foundation of Pro Work. Not a business plan. Not a market analysis. A simple, personal conviction that clients deserve better — better communication, better follow-through, and a team that actually shows up.

From Santiago to Central Florida

Edickson Mata was born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic — the country’s second largest city and a place known for its hard-working, community-driven people. Like many before him, he came to the United States in pursuit of something better — chasing a future alongside his family, starting a new chapter in New York before eventually finding his home in Central Florida.

For 17 years, Edickson built a successful career in the IT industry — a world defined by precision, systems thinking, problem-solving, and accountability. The same discipline that made him successful in technology would later define how he builds — and how he runs Pro Work.

In 2019, everything shifted. Edickson began flipping properties in Florida — and what started as an investment strategy quickly became a calling. He was drawn to the transformation. The before and after. The way a neglected space could become something extraordinary with the right vision and the right execution. But the more projects he took on, the more he saw the same problems repeating themselves: contractors who didn’t show up, promises that weren’t kept, and clients — including himself — left wondering what was happening with their own property.

Why He Started Pro Work

Most people who start construction companies come from the trades. Edickson came from somewhere different — and that background changed everything about how Pro Work operates.
Having spent nearly two decades in IT, he understood what a well-run process looks like. He understood project management, client communication, and the cost of a broken system. When he stepped into the world of construction and experienced firsthand what most homeowners experience every day — unreturned calls, vague timelines, contractors who disappear mid-project — he didn’t just decide to do better. He built a company around it.

“I started Pro Work because I was the frustrated client. I know exactly how it feels to be left hanging — and I made a decision that no client of mine would ever feel that way.”

Pro Work was built on two non-negotiables: show up, and stand behind your work. Everything else — the process, the team, the standards — grew from those two commitments.

What Sets Edickson Apart

There are plenty of contractors in Central Florida. What makes Edickson different isn’t just the quality of the work — it’s the quality of the relationship. Clients consistently describe him the same way: honest. Not just competent, not just professional — honest. The kind of honest that tells you when something isn’t going to work the way you think it will. The kind of honest that calls you before a problem becomes a surprise.

When Edickson says he’ll be there — he’s there. This sounds basic. In construction, it’s rare. From the discovery call to the final walkthrough, clients always know they can reach him.
Seventeen years in IT taught Edickson that unclear communication is the root of almost every project failure. He built Pro Work’s entire process around keeping clients informed at every phase — so they never have to wonder what’s happening with their own project.
Edickson’s personal standard is simple: he will not deliver something he isn’t proud of. If something isn’t right, it gets made right — no excuses, no runaround, no finger-pointing. That commitment runs through every person on the Pro Work team.
When Edickson was flipping properties, he was the client. He knows what it feels like to invest your hard-earned money into a space and trust someone else to handle it. That experience never left him — and it shows in how Pro Work operates every single day.

What Matters to Edickson Outside of Work

Come Build Something With Us

When you choose Pro Work, you’re not just hiring a construction company. You’re working directly with someone who has been exactly where you are — frustrated by broken promises, unclear timelines, and contractors who don’t show up. Someone who decided to fix that problem rather than accept it.

Edickson built Pro Work to be the company he wished he could have hired. And every project — from a bathroom remodel to a custom home build — is a reflection of that original commitment.
